This item was a huge disappoinment for me. I had expected (hoped) to find a sturdy fabric which would be suitable for rough hiking and working in the garden. The fabric is very light weight...almost sleazy. It would not stand up to the uses I would put it through. The fit is way off base...I had ordered one size up as recommended. I would have needed two sizes up. Bean's can and should do better with this type of clothing for women who do seek sturdy and functional items.
These are my favorite pants and I've retired my other LLBean zipoffs (which I loved) for my two new pairs since these are so much better and more comfortable. I'm 5'8" and 142 lbs and usually wear an 8 or 10, so I got 2 pairs of these in a 12 (10 was too tight). They fit perfectly. Although designed for and fantastic for outdoor use (I love being able to remove the legs when it's hot in the afternoon and replace them in the cool evenings), they're great for everyday use and I've even worn them to work a few times. The pants dry amazingly fast and are very lightweight and comfortable. There's a draw cord around the ankle which helps keep it from looking too bulky, but relaxes when you need to remove the legs over your shoes. I just wish I could buy more colors!
Love the fabric and the design, especially the bright orange trim. Frequently wear a size 10 but I couldn't even pull that size up over my hips. Returned for a size 12 and they just fit. However once you get the correct size, I think they are great.
