After reading of some assembly problems, I was a bit leery about ordering, but LL Bean's reputation as a fair and honest supplier caused me to go ahead. The site said 1-2 weeks delivery time, and it arrived in 3 days. The packaging is impressive-no damage whatsoever. Assembly was easy and took about an hour. Directions could be a bit clearer, but managed ok. Several people complained about the doors needing magnetic catches, but this one has them. The stand is well designed and sturdy. The only fault I found was a tiny unpainted spot by the door hinge. Called customer service and they are sending some touch-up paint. The storage behind the doors could use a shelf. All in all, a great product.
We recently purchased this piece as we have the rest of the collection. We love this set. l was however a little disappointed in this piece as one of the doors does not line up porperly and fits at the top but leaves a gap at the bottom. Other than that it is a great peice of furniture.
I searched for a small dresser to use as a TV table with storage, but settled on this console. It was shipped by UPS - arrived in a few business days - no damage - didn't take long to assemble. I have my router and DVD on one shelf which leaves another shelf for other electronics or storage. It's very heavy, sturdy, well-made, has a great ivory painted finish, and it's a good height for viewing TV screen from the sleeper sofa. It's in the Toy Room where grandkids sleepover, but I use this room daily. It's a great-looking piece that completes this casual room and matches my North Haven dresser if I ever wanted to use them together.
The entertainment console arrived in good shape. A friend and I put it together on a Saturday afternoon. I am pretty handy and usually have no problem assembling RTA products. The instructions are very vague and could be improved. We had two issues during assembly. One of the sides didn't line up properly, the nut on one corner was at an odd angle and would not allow the bolt to thread. With the unit 3/4 asembled, we completely disassembled it and reasssembled it with no success. We finally had to use force to align the bolt, to the point where the side cracked where it had been glued. The good news was that it all got together, I reglued and clamped the side. The other problem was very poor threading on the two posts that hold the door. One was good enough to thread after a few tries, the other I was ble to re-thread using a lot of force and vise grips, fortunately it worked. A project that should have taken under a half hour took a good couple hours. Fortunately it all got together and seems to be fine. I like the look and function now that it is together.
