I thought the directions were easy to understand and I had no problem with assembly, with the exception of getting the doors on at the end, when I needed a rubber mallet to wedge the doors over the screw and between the top and bottom. Small point but I liked the knobs - good quality. Only downside - no latch on the doors. They closed fine on the carpet where I assembled it but when I moved it to the wood floor, one door stayed open presumably because it or the floor is not quite level. I'll need to find a latch or magnets to the door can be closed.
Overall, we're very pleased with this piece--it looks nice and was easy to put together and seems sturdy. There is a ding on the front but it's pretty hard to see and we haven't yet attached the back piece as I've been avoiding unconnecting/connecting the wires from the TV, cable box and VCR!
I bought this console to put our big screen tv on for the basement. LLBean is the only place that I have found that has a white console. The console is very sturdy, and sleek looking. Once again, LLBean has out done the others!
I ordered the console on the phone inside the Freeport store. I was told (and this web site says) it's a 4-5 week wait for the ivory, which I had ordered. I placed the order on Aug. 19 and received it Aug. 22nd. I was delighted with this surprise. My husband put this together by himself with no problems at all. I love the look and it's perfect for my self-themed "classy, but comfy" family room. No complaints here... though if I had any, I'd contact LL right away. That's why I purchase with them because of the guarantee. FYI, I did not actually see this item on the floor in Freeport. They don't have it there yet. I had to go based on color of another piece, but I would say it was very accurate to what I had seen on the web site. We have a black flat screen tv and black vcr and dvd and I like the contrast against the ivory as well as my colored wall behind it..
