Mountain Sport Fleece Jacket, Men's Warm, moisture
PostedJuly 29, 2009
Great jacket, sleeves are a little long as others have mentioned.........I just roll them up once.........elastic in sleeve might be an improvement.........price was right!
This garment met all my expectations. I appreciate all the pockets. The slim fit is perfect. I got the dark royal/indigo and the color looks good. Warm enough for anything above 50 degrees.
The sleeves are a bit long for me. But this happens to me all the time.
After reading the reviews about how tightly this fit and how "slimming" the fit is, I ordered one. The site says "Designed with a streamlined shape" and that was encouraging. At 6'2" and 170 lbs., I could swim in this, less so than some other jackets from LLBean, but still too large through out the torso. If I kept it I would have to have at least three or four inches removed from the torso. Fabric is nice: combination of thermal pro fleece and power stretch fleece is nice, and it is DWR treated for water resistance. Nice pockets , too. By all the reviews and descriptions I really thought it would be much tighter fitting, which is exactly what I wanted. Now I have to decide if I am willing to pay a tailor to fit it. If I do, it will probably be a five star piece! It is NOT a streamlined piece, it is a couple inches less in the torso than standard, but it needs to be even MORE streamlined!
I liked the overall quality of this above average price fleece, but unlike other Bean garments that fit me perfectly, the Large Mountain Sport Fleece just wasn't built for me. The upper sleeves were too tight, the sleeves were too long, and overall the jacket was too small. Strange, since I've had a Large fleece vest from Bean for years that I absolutely love, and many other purchases where the quality was wonderful. I love the idea of quality garments that wear well after years of use and many washings. This fleece just didn't meet the usual Bean standard.
