Pro --Attractive jacket with practical features, and, since it's not too bulky, it doubles as an insulating layer on very cold or windy days.
Con -- Sizing. A Bean medium or med large usually fits me. But my mountain sport jacket is a large. The body and shoulders are a perfect fit, though the sleeves are 2" too long. If I were the same weight and 4" taller, this jacket would probably be a great fit.
So I just roll the sleeves up. I'm a function over form kinda guy, so that little adjustment doesn't bother me. But, for the price, someone else might disagree.
I'm very happy with my jacket, which is amazingly windproof. It has a soft hand (feel) and washes well. I'm stocky, so sleeves are snug but fit well. Great for my mall crawling and AM bike rides.
I have to admit after reading the other reviews after I had already ordered this item I was afraid the sleeve length was going to be "gorilla like" as one review put it. I was releved when it arrived the the sleeve length and overall length was perfect. Great jacket.
Sleeves disproportionately long to jacket size, plus they have no cinch to the cuff so you're stuck with a hanging sleeve (read other reviews on this). Range of motion is not as touted in description - very limited, binds awkwardly when raising arms.. Feel and quality of material do seem to live up to Bean standards. Have been a fan of Bean outerwear for years, but this one disappoints due to poor fit.
