I bought the jacket for backpacking at Yosemite this summer but have worn it a few times both in Ohio and Az. At warmer temps it doesn't cause you to overheat and as it cools outside the jacket retains a fair amount of warmth.
Good jacket. I usually wear XL, but this one is cut a bit too generously, and sleeves are a bit too long. Yet, it is a great jacket nonetheless. Unlike some other brands, LL Bean items in XL size seem to be truly extra large.
My husband loves the jacket, however the sizing is a bit off. He is average size 5'11" and 175lbs. The jacket overall fits well - around and length, but the sleeves are longer than they should be.
