This is a very figure flattering jacket. I have it in the blue and it is bright and cheerful for spring. The darker side panels lend a nice slimming effect. As many of the other reviewers have stated, it does run a little snug so if you are deciding between two sizes, go with the larger one. The one thing I would like to see changed is that instead of the pockets simply being made of mesh, that they were lined. Also, as others have said, if the wind is blowing strong enough, it is not really windproof. That is the reason I am giving it four stars instead of 5.
My husband gave me a Mountain Sport Fleece Jacket for Christmas. I didn't like it. It wasn't a colour I ever wear (teal). It wasn't the flashiest jacket I ever saw in my life. I really didn't need a jacket like that anyway. I filed it in my bottom drawer. A month or so later I pulled it out and put it on before we went to watch our grandchildren's hockey game. It has rarely been off my back since! I LOVE it. It is lightweight and yet amazingly warm. I can wear it under a winter jacket without feeling all bunched up. It is just right for those days in winter when it's too cold to go without a jacket but not warm enough to go with just a sweater. It looks great over a pair of casual pants or jeans. It is soft, it is easy care, it washes wonderfully, it is, in short, the nicest jacket I have ever worn. I have since purchased two more - one for my sister and one for my daughter-in-law. I am about to buy two more to give to my daughters for Christmas. Thankfully they come in several colours! P.S. I've learned to love the colour teal!
This is the best fleece I've ever purchased from LLBean. The styled cut (shaped in at the waist) and contrasting side-panels means it has a fitted shape that looks and fills good, better than previous boxy, shapeless fleeces. And it keeps me warm without too much bulk. The first one I purchased, the stitching on the trim came loose within a few weeks, but I exchanged it for free, and my new one hasn't had this problem.
