I looked at this coat last year and put off buying until this year. I am now so disappointed with it, which is very rare with a Bean's product. I thought I could deal with the zipper, which others had mentioned as problematical. It was hopeless. The coat also lacked substance. It was less than "faux' - it in no way resembled anything made out of shearling. My husband was actually relieved when I sent it back.

very happy with this coat. ordered the mushroom color. true to picture. fits perfect. got the x-large. i usually wear 14-16 in clothing. this is a perfect fit for me. i am 5ft.8inches. weight 163 lbs. this may help choosing the right size for others. couldn't be happier!
After reading all 100+ reviews I decided to take a chance on the zipper and top closure. Zipper was fine, but the gap at the top of it would let in lots of cold air. Dark brown color was rich, but the style just didn't do anything for me. Sorry to have to return the coat.

This is the greatest coat ever! I bought it three winters ago and it has been keeping me luxuriously cozy and warm ever since. It still looks brand new. I love the hood, which keeps the wind, rain and snow out, and the toggles do a fine job of keeping it closed so I rarely use the zipper except on very cold days. If unsure of size, I would recommend slightly larger so it will fit over layers; this worked well for me. I can't wait for cold weather so I can wear it again.
