I bought this coat for use this past winter in Rhode Island.
The coat is study, and provides some warmth, but there are problems.
The hood does not stay on. There are no fasteners or ties. It simply falls off. Any amount of wind and the hood is down.
The zipper is near impossible to get together. I know another woman who has the coat with the same complaint.
The coat actually ends at the upper thigh due to a large front opening. Although the coat appears long, this opening causes the cold winter to enter at thigh level.
I would not recommend this coat due to the hood and zipper problem.
I ordered this coat to wear at an outdoor wedding in Maine ski resort in February. It was not as stylish as I had hoped and I didn't think it would keep me warm enough. The mushroom color was not quite what I expected, neither was the sizing--it runs tight through the shoulders. If you think it might work for you, order the next size up or you will not have any wearing ease or be able to layer under it. If I had it to do over again I would order it in black and in large. As it was, I returned this one and was promptly credited.
I walk in very cold weather and this is the coat I use. I love the length and the hood. I usually wear layers with it but only when it is lower than 10 degrees. This coat washes and dries and this is a huge plus. Zipper can be a bit of a problem. Order a larger size.
I had this coat and loved it as soon as I tried it on. It fit great and kept me snug and warm. However, every single time I got out of the car, I got/gave a painful shock when I touched something or someone else. It was so pronounced, I had to return the coat! I was bummed because I liked it a lot.
