The Faux-Shearling Toggle Coat is a boot length coat. On me it is a comfortable fit with plenty of room for movement or to wear another layer under the coat. I love it. The zipper and toggles are an extra bonus that I love. It keeps me toasty warm. I would highly recommend this coat to friends and family.
Very pleased with this coat-- it's as attractive in real life as it looks, and pleasantly lightweight.
The thing that I found most useful here when I was trying to make a decision about buying was reading user feedback on sizing, so I figured I'd add mine to the pool. I'm usually a size 6 (though going by the L.L.Bean size chart it looks like I'd be between a 10 and a 12), and the Medium fit well-- I haven't had trouble wearing layers underneath it, but it doesn't look huge, either. It's not the most flattering item of clothing I've ever worn when it comes to waistline, but it's a huge improvement over most winter coats this warm. I'm 5'9", and the bottom of the Medium-sized coat falls just a little below my knee (not as far down as I might have hoped, but it wasn't really a surprise).
My take on a couple of the other criticisms people had in past reviews: It does get a little static-y sometimes, but it's not bad. The zipper was a little tough until I figured out the trick to it, and now I can zip up with no trouble at all just about every time. The two-way zipper allows you to unzip from the bottom when desired, which means I've never found it too snug at the legs to walk in. There's an extra toggle on the hood that fastens under the chin, but even so, I do agree it could use some extra (or tighter?) fastening there for particularly bad weather.
Definite thumbs up on this coat; so far it's made this cold-natured first-time northerner much happier about winter!
I love this coat, it is so warm and a great fit. It is fitted just enough to look good without feeling confined. Heavy duty zipper which allows you to zip in either direction which is very comfortable when driving. I would recommend this coat to family and friends.
