I'm in love with this 5-Star coat: a great combo of classy-dressy-casual (it will make you feel like a princess!), while keeping you toasty warm no matter how cold the temps. (Hint: ties on the hood, and a zipper that extends a few inches higher would make it a 10-Star winner.)
But, ohhhh, if only it fit me. I felt like one of Goldilock's three bears when I first tried on the Large (my usual coat size) only to find it was way too tight across the shoulders and under arms. Exchanged it for an Xtra Large, which was enormous in the waist and hips/thighs area, but still snuggish in shoulders (and while I have a swimmer's build, I'm definitely no line-backer!). Also tried the shorter version of this coat, but encountered the same sizing problems.
Next, attempted to order the matching coat for my beagle -- with his sloping shoulders he could have been a contender for Faux Shearling Prince of the Winter -- only to learn the dog jackets in this magical material were sold out. Grrrrrrr!
On the bright side, bought the matching hat and mittens for myself & my daughter (before they sold out) -- both ultra-warm prize-winners -- we're still raving about them.
I ordered this coat because I was looking for a long coat that would be warm as well as stylish. It lives up to the warm part but is far from stylish. The coat has absolutely no shape whatsoever, and the way the stitching is in front is the least flattering of any coat I have ever tried on. This coat definitely went back. I may not be model size 2, but this coat made me look at least several sizes larger than the size 8 that I normally wear.
I loved the look of this coat and, upon reviewing others' comments, I chose an extra large (I'm a size 14) and it is perfect! A great price for a great looking coat. Thank you, LLBean!!
