This coat arrived just in time to travel with me from Atlanta to my native Chcago for New Years. Chicago seems to get colder every trip. The theatre is great downtown, and wearing this coat over my dress & boots made strolling down windy Lake Michigan Dr a non-issue.
I ordered my normal numerical size (Small=4 or 6, etc) and it fits nicely.
As other reviews mentioned, a truely bulky sweater might make it snug across the shoulders, but it's doubtful I would wear a full-length coat while wearing a bulky sweater.. it is still slightly bulky in the waist; however, that seems to be because it has pockets which I won't opt to lose. It isn't any bulkier in the waist than any other winter coat I've owned. My hands normally migrate to the pockets while walking in the cold, which pulls the coat tighter anyway.
The green color is more of a natural looking dark olive-kahki than true green and is subtle enough to go nicely with nearly any outfit; it looked really great with my wine-colored dress. Glad I gave it a try.
I highly recommend this coat. It is snuggly warm even with the recent frigid weather. It is roomy enough to wear over suit jackets. It is categorized as a casual coat, but it's nice enough to wear on wintery business work days. And sooooooo soft. I've had lots of compliments on it.
This was a very warm coat; you can wear it in 30 degree F weather unzipped and unbuttoned and stay comfy. Unfortunately, it runs small - I am normally a 10 and wanted to exchange my medium for a large when I found both sizes had sold out. Beautiful and well-made.
Unfortunately, I ignored the posted reviews and ordered my daughter her usual size( small). She really needs a medium to zip the coat- too narrow through the hips. I cannot imagine how the coat could be worn with any layers underneath! otherwise the coat was cute and warm.
