I bought this coat in brown and it is a gorgeous shade, very rich looking. Before purchasing it, I read the other reviews regarding the size and bought it one size larger. It fits well with a sweater under it and I don't have a problem with it being tight across the shoulders. It is warm and looks great with slacks, jeans or skirt.
I bought this coat for my wife for Xmas. It runs smaller then the sizes show. Becarefull as when you return the item you not only pay the shipping but you pay the RETURN LABEL CHARGE. Becomes very expensive.
This coat is absolutley gorgeous, and the styling LOOKS wonderful, so I bought it for my mom as a birthday gift. I tried it on before giving it to her, as we are the same size (a small). I had ordered a medium, hoping to leave room for sweaters underneath. WELLLLL, the arms and armpits of this coat are sooo tight, I couldn't wear it (and I only had on a thin top)!!!! Sadly, it is going right back!!!! A larger size would be out of the question, as the rest of the coat seems to run true to size.
I was a bit wary of this coat after reading the other reviews. But, I liked the style. I wanted a long warm coat with a hood that would keep me warm while walking my dog in cold MN winters, until the car warms up.....
I'm glad that I ordered it. I'm 5'2", 120lbs and ordered a petite medium. The petite small might have worked too, the medium is a bit big, but not uncomfortably so.
There is a lot of static with this coat, but static guard took care of that.
The zipper comes to my thighs, so I stay really warm even on the coldest nights. The only problem I had with the zipper was after washing the coat - I didn't have both of the zipper openings lined up at the bottom of the zipper. When they are together the zipper works great.
