I love the coat...if only I could wear it. I wish I'd read the reviews before I ordered. Maybe there would have been a size XL then, but there isn't now. I wear size M or L tops depending upon the clothes (but size 12 pants which is M) so I ordered a large coat. It sat in my closet a few weeks while I wished desperately for it to fit better on my arms...but now am resigned to returning it. LLBean needs to have people actually try on the clothes and make sure the size is correct.
In reading everyone's comments about fit of the coat I was worried. But I'm 5' 4" 115lbs. typically wear a size 2 and the X-small fits me perfectly. Currently there is room left in the coat to wear a sweater underneath. I have not tried washing the coat yet and I hope it's preshrunk. I read some comments about the zipper not working properly and mine works fine but it is a short zipper and stops around my hips.
I like the look of this coat but returned it because it did not meet my expectations. I wanted a coat to wear when I take my dog for a walk during the fall and winter months. The zipper on this coat is very short. It only came down to my hips. So when I walked the front opened up and exposed the lower half of my body to the elements. My torso was warm but my legs froze. It only took one walk for me to know that I needed to return this coat.
