I didn't know what to expect on sizing since this coat has received negative reviews that it fits too snug. Based on those reviews, I felt like I was taking a risk by ordering the petite XS in dark mushroom. I just received it today and I'm shocked that it is actually too big!! I'm 5'2, 98 lbs and XS is normally my size. This coat is swimming on me. What a disappointment. I love the look of this coat. Too bad llbean doesn't make it in an XXS. Sigh. It's going back. : (
I loved the picture of the coat in the catalog. It looked very soft. I loved the hood. I agree with other reviewers that the coat is very form fitting not relaxed. I checked the shoulder width before ordering hoping it would fit. I ordered one size up, and it just fit with no room to spare. It would look great on a tall thin person, but not on a petite size 10.
Had my doubts to order this coat because of other reveiws. But it was exactly the coat I was in need of since I will be wearing dresses underneath it. I needed length & warmth. I did order a large because of reveiws and it fits perfect. I'm 5'6", 140#, and a size 8. Which the size chart reccommends a med. I am SOOO pleased with everything about it. I live in a place that gets hit with lake effect snow falls and now I'm READY! Love the hood too. Great value.
