This is a beautiful coat but I have to agree with the other reviewer who said that the sizing is off. I normally wear an XL comfortably (and that is the size that I ordered) but when I tried to put this coat on it was like I was trying to squeeze into a Medium. The cut of the back/shoulders is so narrow that I couldn't even get my arms into the sleeves. It took quite a long time and lots of searching to find a coat in my size that I like and that didn't cost a fortune, I am very sad that I will have to send it back!
I bought this coat in large, but it was way too tight through the shoulders. I returned it for and XL and it was still way too tight. I'm a 44 bust (38C) and usually wear a size 16, but even the 18-20 coat was too small through the shoulders even with a sleeveless shirt on. It was really large through the rest of the body. It's a beautiful coat, so if you have narrow shoulders, it should fit fine. I've never ever had any problems with garments not fitting through the shoulders, so I was deeply saddened that I couldn't make this coat work for me. I exchanged it for KL55845 Insulated H2OFF DX Storm Coat XL, which arrived in the mail today and fits fine with a sweater on with room to spare.
I bought the faux shearling full length coat without a hood a few winters ago. I liked the coat, but couldn't stand carrying around a hat when it was cold out. This toggle coat with hood answered my prayers! It is warm, comfortable, and machine washable. I also really like its appearance. It is longer and smaller around the chest than the faux shearling without the hood. I bought it one size larger than I usually buy from LLBean, and it seems to fit perfectly over sweaters and sweatshirts.
I just moved from California to Massachusetts and was looking for a warm winter coat. I new LLBean was THE place to shop. I absolutley love the coat, the look, the feel. Unfortunately it does not come in women's plus size. The extra large was too snug across the shoulders. I am going to try the jacket since it does come in plus size. I hope in the future LLBean considers making this coat in plus size. I love that LLBean rates cold tolerance. Thank You
