Oh this hoodie is SO soft and cozy! I have received many compliments on it. I am comfortable wearing it in temperatures between the 40s and 50s with just a long sleeve shirt underneath. Love it!! Order one.
My first reaction was surprise at how heavy this is. The inside is incredibly soft and cozy, but the exterior is a conventional hoodie sweatshirt upgraded with zippers--and Pacific Blue is a lovely color. Those two layers definitely make this an outdoor jacket. The medium fit my size 12 fine all around. But ... it's so short it didn't reach the top of my jean's rear pockets and it's too bulky to wear under a longer jacket. That leaves too much of me in the cold. The hood has no cinch cord to block a breeze. Bottom line: despite cozy lining and appealing color, it was just too expensive and not functional enough to keep, so I couldn't recommend it. That makes it below average for LL Bean, although the quality is well above the average elsewhere.
I recently purchased this hoodie and I'm quite pleased with it except I'm a bit disappointed in the length. I would prefer it a bit longer....it's hip length which I was aware of when I bought it. But it's the fleece lining that got my attention...the best fleece lining I've seen and very warm. I'm intending to use this jacket in the colder weather and added length would have made this perfect, but I did give it five stars because of the lining. I would hope that LL would consider bringing this back in a longer length. Fleece lined, to me, indicates it's intended for colder weather wear (perfect for us living in the south) and added length would be great. Thanks LL Bean.
I love the jacket but I'm exchanging it for a larger size. I live in the Northwest and want to be able to wear it on the few days it doesn't rain. It is so soft and the hood is also lined. I highly recommend it but would encourage you to go one size up if you plan to wear another shirt underneath.
