I bought this primarily for my 12 year old daughter (who is the same size as me) figuring if she didn't like it I would keep it for myself. She absolutely loves it, told me she didn't want to take it off at school. It is very very soft inside as many reviewers have mentioned. We got a medium and it fits both of us, 5'2" and 123#. I am bustier than she is and she has a bigger waist but it fits both of us fine. It really does feel nice on, and it is quite warm.
Many people have mentioned "heavy" but I took it as meaning how warm it is, but in fact the jacket is heavy in poundage compared to most other jackets we have. It's not a problem for us but I was surprised. It is distinctly heavier in poundage than a typical fleece jacket, though not bulky.
Also, the outer fabric is mostly cotton, for better or worse. Not sure how it will perform if caught in a rainstorm, but I know it would take a while for any water to soak through.
One reviewer said the jacket was loose at the hem and cold air would come in but I can't imagine that happening. The fit is like a sweatshirt and the bottom hem fits reasonably snug around our hips. The length is good too. All in all a great buy at this price and well worth full price.
The weight of this sweatshirt is great...definitely made to keep you warm and the lining is extremely soft. It would be a little better if the fleece actually extended through the sleeves and not just the abdominal area (it's like a fleece vest inside a sweatshirt). If the sleeves were just an inch longer, I would have given it an even better rating. I agree with others that it is definitely made to be worn over a very thin top.
Great warmth to this lightweight jacket. It will be great for the fall, before winter arrives, or wearing it around the house, when it's a tad cool. I ordered large, my normal size w/LL Bean clothing, and there is a bit of give to the size. I could've order XL should I have wanted to wear some layers underneath. I'm even considering wearing it in bed at night, as cover on top of me, while reading or TV watching. Love the colors! I ordered the blue/green and believe it will match up nicely w/the fleece-lined courduroy shoes I ordered from you last winter.
I LOVE this hoodie! I bought the navy and green and it is too cute. I was able to order and wear an XL with comfortable room to spare (I am very large chested). I wish there were more colors. It is very soft and snuggly. It's more like a heavy sweatshirt than a "jacket". And it's a GREAT sale price!
