These boots are warm and waterproof. Last year we had some bad weather around the holidays. We had ice damming and water backing up into our yard. I was standing in about 5" of freezing slushy water for over an hour trying to redirect water away from our house. My feet were warm and dry.
I bought these for my roomate to brave our first major snowstorm. Testing these out she complained of pain at the calf and difficulty sliding the boots on. Being a narrow foot I assumed she wouldn't have any of the mentioned trouble but it appears the reviews were correct. Extreme disapointment!
I recently purchased the new Wildcat Snow boots after reading the LL Bean description that they had been totally revamped from the older Wildcat boot which I also own. I was quite disappointed. Even though they are attractive (mine were black) and lighter weight than the older version, they are still too stiff to walk in any distance comfortably. Would be okay for trips to and from your car, house etc, not for walking dogs a couple a miles a day. I returned them for a pair of Bogs boots at the recommendation of a sales person at our local LL Bean store.
These boots are simply awful. I was so looking forward to them. I took them out of the box, put the right boot on, and the zipper broke as I was zipping them up for the first (and only) time. As others have said in their reviews, they are tight around the ankles but too big for the feet. They are incredibly stiff, and cut into the calf and shin. They are going right back today. So unlike LL Bean.
