I got this style of boot because I am a quick shoe on shoe off kind of person. I figured the zip front would be perfect. The problem is the zip front does not tighten the fit enough to prevent lots of movement while walking. I actually got a friction burn on my ankles from the boot rubbing back and forth. Friction burn is slowly healing, but I returned the zip front for the lace ups and they are much better. Think twice before getting these!
There is one major flaw with these boots: the top of the shaft is too tight and it will chafe your leg if you do any walking. Thick socks and/or tucking in your pants doesn't help. I've tried them on three outings so far and they're not getting any better and I can't get used to the pain. I'm returning them.
They are otherwise warm, lightweight, and waterproof. I am very disappointed I can't keep them.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
After reading various reviews about the boot being tight on the upper calve, I was apprehensive at purchasing these. I have got to say, I am LOVING them. I have had absolutely NO discomfort with them being tight or snug. They feel GREAT and are very comfortable. Fitted at the heel and nice and roomy in the toe area. They are form-fitting on the upper calve, but are in no way bothersome. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these.
