These boots are a bit tight around the top, making it uncomfortable to walk in them for more than a short distance. There isn't enough room to really tuck in your pants, and if you do tuck in pants the boots don't zip up all the way. I thought the boots just needed to be broken in, but after a winter they are still tight and do not have much give around the top. They will leave marks on your legs. That said, they do keep out water, snow, and winter muck.
I bought these to wear walking around a ski resort. I wear them with thin ski socks and my feet stay warm and dry. Since we had so much snow this winter I also ended up wearing them out to run around town. The first time I tried them on I thought the upper portion of the shoe was tight around my lower calf but after wearing them 2 - 3 times for about 30 minutes they stretched enough so that now they are very comfortable. I don't have any complaints.
These boots are stylish, dry and warm (and my feet didn't sweat which is nice), but they are hard to zip up and are snug and stiff around the calf so far. However I haven't worn them enough to really know if the difficulties will continue or if the top will soften up so I can more easily zip them. I read a few other similar reviews of them so I can tell anybody interested that you will need to break them in.
