I was looking forward to comfortable, functional boots but these aren't the ones. They were very heavy and completely inflexible. The sole didn't bend at all and the top of the boot abraded my leg even though I had on knee socks. While the front of the boot fit OK, the heel and leg part were way, way too wide, making them ride up and down my heels and legs whenever I took a step. Oddly enough, they even smelled so bad I didn't know where to put them until I could return them. I can't think of one good thing to say about them.
Boots are very comfortable and well made but hard to break in. First few times wearing boots killled my shins. I think once broken in, they'll be great.
First I have to thank LL Bean. I bought my daughter a pair of wildcat boots 5 years ago and they were able to tell me what type of boots we had ordered. My daughter and I love her boots they are so great and keep your feet so warm and dry, however they are the pull on type. I bought myself the zipper front style and they are just as great and the tops are smaller as stated in other reviews, but I had no problem putting my jeans in them and zipping them up. The only thing that I would change is that if you don't set the zipper it does come down while you are walking. I do love these boots and I live in Idaho with at least 4 - 5 feet of snow and they are also great. I also like to wear them around the barn. I have no issue with the boots getting wet and making my feet cold.
It's Minnesota in the winter: single digit temps, 3 foot snow drifts, and ice on top of the snow! I love these boots for doing barn chores! They provide excellent support in all kinds of footing and keep my feet warm. If you pull your polar fleece pants down over the top, they'll keep the snow out as well. This is my second pair.
