My Red Java Mary Janes arrived four days ago, and I have barely taken them off since, except for bed. These are exactly like wearing comfy slippers, except you can wear them outside. I work in a casual environment, so these are fine all the time, but I've even recommended them to friends who have to wear heels all the time--it's worth having them to walk the dog and grocery shop in. Probably they aren't hugely practical if you live among rural delights, but for those of us who pound sidewalks all the time, I highly, highly recommend them.
After reading the rave reviews I was disappointed with everything about this shoe. I have a slightly high instep and ordered a half size larger than I normally wear. Even so the elastic strap was so tight that it was uncomfortable. The heel is very wide. Even if the shoe had fitted better I felt it offered no more support that a pair of slippers. The look is OK but noting special. They don't measure up to other shoes I have purchased at LL Bean in the past.
