A colleage at work has 2 pairs of these boots and they look great on her, so I was excited to order a pair. Sadly, I found the boots to have extremely wide shafts--there was so much room around my legs/calves the boots looked silly. I had hoped to wear them with skirts to work--not a chance. This problem didn't go away with a smaller size. I'd recommend them only for women with larger calves.
bought the leather pair in chocolate, size 7. Returning them. Too large in the foot and the leather just felt too cheap and rough along the zipper seam, and looks rather lumpy and dull throughout. I get the practical appeal of these boots--can wear them in snow and rain--but sadly, you get what you pay for in the beauty department. The Born Thicket boots--which I've ordered too and am exchanging for a smaller pair (beware--the sizing system is way off--get one full size smaller)--are much prettier and of higher quality. I can wear them without feeling embarrassed.
Love the boots!!! I ordered these boots in a wide and the calf fit perfectly. As a plus size girl it is hard to find some that fit and these are great. I did but some insoles for them but other than that great buy. I plan to buy another pair in another color as well.
