I have said "God bless LLBean" for these boots a dozen times this winter! I have been looking for boots like this, but being a short person, often the length of the boot, or the width of the calf at different places, is often wrong for me. Not so with these. They have never leaked a drop of water, and they are so nice and warm without being stifling when indoors...I have worn them all day on my feet, and have been happy at the end of the day. The comments below about being "cheap looking" and having "white stitching showing" must not relate to the 2009/10 version of this boot. I bought mine in December, 2009, and they are lovely. I am often complimented on these boots, but it is my own love for them that makes them a first choice in all sorts of weather and cold.
about 4 years ago I bought the black leather one and it was like love at first sight. These boots have the elegance of a pair of boot your buy at a designer store for one third of the price. Now I decided that I also need a pair of brown boots, and after a long, high and low search I went back to my old store for a pair of Town & Field boots and when I open the package and tried them on it was like falling in love all over again. These boots are stylish and strong. The leather is so rich that when I put them on I feel like I'm wearing $300. dollars boots. I am not getting paid by LL Bean for this review, I just love the boots and I hope that after this review LL Bean would not raise the price.
