I bought these (leather, not suede) at the outlet, so I got to try several pairs on in each size. I usually wear an 8, but I found that the 7.5 fit best. I have small calves, and often have problems finding boots that don't look silly on me. These were tight enough when I was wearing them alone, but stretch enough that they fit comfortably over jeans. They have a great size heel and they are just the right height.
The only reason I couldn't give them a 5 yet is because I haven't broken them in! Can't wait!
Sorry, but these boots in a 6.5W don't accommodate my athletic calves. How disappointing. If I leave the top 1/2 inch unzipped, they're tolerable. They need a touch more flare at the very top in order to be comfortable. Please make goods for real bodies.
I have been looking for a wide calf riding boot for months and this is it! I am normally an 8.5 or 9 (I bought a 9, not the wide). Athletic legs thanks to gymnastics, running, spinning. This boot fits great. I need about a 15 1/4 inch circumference to fit in comfortably and I can even fit jeans in these boots with room to spare!
I purchased these boots last fall and have worn them quite a bit, when ordering choose your usual shoe size I wouldn't suggest you go a size larger as leather tends to stretch with time. I've worn these boots in all types of weather, rain, slush, snow and icy conditions. They aren't lined so they are really comfy with tights and under jeans and you can tuck skinny jeans into them. Well worth the price.
