I don't have a wide foot but I really wanted these wide boots for the extra room in the calves--they still could have been a little bigger around for me. The toe box is low. I wouldn't order a bigger size for more room since it would have been too roomy at the heel and rubbed. If you need extra height in the toe, these boots are not for you.
Like most of Bean's products, its a good value for the money. The Pros: It's a stylish, knock-around town boot, attractive in a simple, classic way (I got the chocolate). The wide is wide enough for my short, square feet and thick calves. My regular size accomodated thick socks and tucked in jeans. The Con: The leather is very, very stiff. Can be uncomfortable without the thick socks or some kind of padding between you and the boot. Not unexpected for such an inexpensive pair of boots, but I'm still hoping that it'll gain some give with wearing.
LOVE these boots! I have a hard time finding boots that fit over my calf. These boots zip up without any struggle or pinching of my skin! I get compliment after compliment when I wear them and I am able to easily dress them up or down. Great versatile boots full of quality. Would recommend a shoe insert as the sole is a little flat. I am a teacher so I stand all day...need any arch support I can get.
These are great boots. I've had so much trouble finding stylish, comfortable boots that fit my wide calfs. My one caveat is that I don't have wide feet. I wish they made a version with a wide calf, but with standard width in the shoe. They also seemed to run a little big in the shoe (length wise).
