I love Mary Jane shoes, but I was very disappointed in these. I ordered my usual size (9) but could hardly fit my foot in them, and the lacing all around the top of the shoe hurt my heel. I love the style, colour (burgundy) and would have liked to have kept them, but I had to return them. I would try a larger size but am afraid that I would walk out of them.
Despite previous reviews, I purchased these shoes in black leather prior to a trip, and did not break them in. I wore them on a long walk and was pleasantly surprised by their immediate comfort, and the great way they dressed up my jeans. They have only become more comfortable with each wear. I ordered my normal size, and found the sizing great, but I have narrow feet. So far, I am pleased with their quality.
I would love to recommend these shoes. They are very cute and good quality, but the fit is odd. It's not really that they run small, though the shoe is very snug in the toes, because it is very loose in the back. I was walking out of the shoe even though my toes were crowded. This was without socks. The footbed was nice and soft. I regretfully returned them. Could it be my feet?
I really wanted these shoes to be comfortable. But...they were not, at all. They have all the makings of superior comfort (leather inside and out), but I got blisters on my heels and the sides of my toes even though the shoe was the right size for my foot. I wore them with thin cotton socks and thin nylon type trouser socks, but both types of sock were equally not helpful to make the shoe more comfortable. I returned these with sadness.
