ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I was skeptical, but after my doggie and I were caught in a hailstorm and the parts that were covered by this coat were dry, I was convinced! We ran a stretch to get out of the storm, and I was sweating (I usually don't) - so: Just a hint - GoreTex is less waterproof, but breathes more; TEK 2.5 is more waterproof but breathes less. Whatever suits your needs.
I ordered this raincoat as a summer raincoat for when I didn't want to sweat inside my normal coat. The weight is nice, but it felt like I was wearing a plastic bag (i.e. the fabric did not have any movement) and made lost of noise when I walked around. Also, the color (I ordered green) was not as shown on the website and I looked (and sounded like) a noisy peapod. I am returning the coat unfortunately.
I was looking for a light weight rain coat that I could layer over a blazer (for cooler, fall days.) This seems perfect. Also very lightweight, folds up small for packing. Depending upon the style, I order either a small or a medium LL Bean size, but because I wanted to wear this rain coat over another jacket, I ordered medium and it fits great. Haven't yet worn it in any downpours, but I'm not worried as I know that LL Bean stands behind all its products.
I was looking forward to this rain coat to wear this fall but unfortunately the sleeves are way too long. They are not just a little long - they cover the tips of my fingers and then some! Would only recommend for someone who is very tall.
