I needed a no-nonsense raincoat, and hoped to find one that was lightweight and not too stiff. This is that coat. If you've bought LLB trail model rainwear in the past, you might have found it stiff and plastic-y. LLB has improved the fabric quality in recent years, and this coat is soft and flexible. It has nice features, such as a velcro storm flap, fleece interfacing at the collar (no scratchy zipper on your chin), deep pockets, and a very good hood. I've had it for over a year, and it's great. I end up walking the dog in all kinds of weather, and this coat keeps me very dry. One suggestion -- I found the coat runs narrow. I returned the first one and got the next size up. It's very comfortable, and I can wear a fleece jacket or a heavy sweater underneath and it doesn't feel tight or bulky. Also, the coat packs really well -- it's great to take along on trips.
The rain coat arrived in time for a heavy downpour. Because the coat is lightweight, I put it on before the rain came down and left it open. As it started to rain, I zipped the zipper and pulled up the hood. To my amazement, I did not get wet except on my lower legs (where the raincoat didn't reach).
I can't recall any recent rain coat that has kept me dry.
Tromped around Irish countryside in mist and heavy rain. This coat put to the test. Did not leak! Light weight and easy to pack. Pocket flaps reversed to keep rain out but awkward cause not use to them.
super light weight, great rain coat, folds easily and takes little room for a person on the go. Wrists close by velcro to keep the water out and hood has a great pull tab to keep it on when heavy winds are near.
