What a great buy! I was concerned when I read a review that didn't like the material but even though it doesn't have a traditional lining, it doesn't stick to me like my old slicker used to. It keeps me really dry in a downpour and I'm glad I chose the length i did (the coat instead of the jacket)
The LLBean Trail Model Raincoat is a must not only on the trail but in the City especially when waiting for buses. The coat and hood fit comfortably over an LLBean fleece jacket. With the zipper and velcro closure along the flap there was no leaking in of water as I stood at the bus stop in a wind and rain storm for over 25 minutes. It dries quickly. If I am out for the day and anticipate rain later, it is lightweight and easy to carry or it can be carefully folded and put into a small bag.
I like this jacket for many reasons. The color is great, it layers easily over a fleece, is packable, and it has a two way zipper for riding in the car. I like this feature but sometimes the zipper is hard to start because the end has to be pushed all the way to the bottom first. I think two way zippers are a bit more temperamental. Also, I would change the mesh in the pockets because sometimes my keys get stuck. Other than that it is a great product.
