Went to Popham - kept the sea breeze and spray out perfectly! Best feature was I didnt get hot. Most rain coats hold the heat in to the point you get clammy - and thats icky! This coat kept the wind and rain out, it was very comfortable, the fit was awesome, the length was great for climing and sitting on rocks - once I got back in the car I took it off and stuffed in it my purse! The size was just right so that I was also able to put another layer on underneath it for insulation - no better jacket for walking the beaches in spring!
Purchased the shorter version earlier this yr so just had to have knee length. Got to test it today on muggy, rainy Atlanta day. This is the real deal: kept me dry, it breathes &, like shorter version, adjusts in all the right places for a perfect fit. Great price & true to size. Highly recommended! Folds up to tiny parcel & easily carried in small gear bag with clip.
I thought this coat looked like another great Bean buy, but I was mistaken. The fit is good and it certainly keeps rain off of me, but the zipper does not work well. Specifically, it is a double-zipper, and it just will not zip with ease. I don't know if it is a faulty zipper or if the problem is the lightweight coat. Also, the hood constantly falls in my eyes. Not the usual quality I get from L. L. Bean.
This is a very practical raincoat. It is nice and lightweight. Good for warm weather. However, I had to return it, because it was larger than I expected the medium size to be. I also did not like the brown color I chose. I would have exchanged it for another color, but there isn't one I really like. Hopefully a better color choice will be made available soon.
