I love my trail model rain coat. The length is great for heavy rains, and its lightweight for warm days while roomy enough to layer under in cool weather. My size medium coat fits perfectly, even though I typically wear a size large in L.L Bean outerwear. My mother, who lives in rainy England, liked mine so much that I decided to purchase one for her birthday. HOWEVER, when i went to order, i found that it doesn't come in an extra small. Most of L.L Bean's other products come in this size, so I'm disappointed that I can't order the trail model coat for her. My mother is 5'2 and a size 4, and the size small fit like a tent. I hope that L.L Bean includes a greater variety of sizes in the future, because I love the products and want to share them with my friends and family.
I got to use the rain coat 2 days after recieveing it. It was very warm in NY that morning. Also a down pour. I was very DRY and very PLEASED. thank-you
This coat really does repel rain. The pockets are backward so that they don't catch water. Walking the dog has gotten a lot easier now that I can stay dry. The hood is long enough to come well over a baseball cap and it can be adjusted with a velcro strap on the back. Mine is the bright pink color so no one can miss me crossing the street. I highly recommend this item.
