This is my favorite raincoat. The hood means an umbrella is optional. It is light weight and packable, has velcro in all the right places to help keep things closed, and even a handy double zipper -- you can zip open from the bottom so you can open it up as needed without taking the coat off. I think some folks mistake this for the coat not opening at all from the bottom. It's rather like a two-way zipper on a quality suit case. The soft lining at the neckline assures makes it "cuddly" as well.
I love the longer length of this rain jacket! It really covers well. I just wish it were a little bit thicker, for warmth, but I can certainly wear fleece and heavy sweaters under it. Great for packing too. And I am very pleased with the fabulous cobalt blue color!
Bought for my Mom for a birthday present. She loved it. I like the weight, it is light enough for hot humid rain days. You can always layer it for colder ones. She had a hard time finding rain coats. I figured LL Bean would have something and I was right :)
This coat keeps you perfectly dry during the warm days and nights plus it allows ease of comfort while moving around doing activities. This also makes a perfect light weight coat to wear over a jacket during the cooler temperertures to keep you warm and dry.
