purchased the wool quarter -zip. when my outer clothes got wet these did not allow the water to touch my body. I work outside all year long and this winter was the first time using this type thermal underwear. Had to walk in three feet of snow and did not get cold or wet. I ordered four more sets of tops and bottoms for duration of this winter and next winter
I bought this to see if it would make a serviceable bicycling jersey, and I'm glad to say it does. Tremendous quality, well designed, amazingly soft shirt. I'm normally an XL and the XL I got was slightly loose, but this is good as a few machine washings and I'm sure some accidental machine dryings will take care of that. I'm going to buy several more, and the non-zip version as well.
Dear LLB: how about some colors besides black and gray???
I bought this for my 92 year old Dad who gets cold very easily and is very fussy. He loves how soft, light weight and warm it is. He also enjoys being able to let some air in around the neck or to have it as a turtle neck. The zipper makes it nice looking as a top versus underwear.
