Not very cozy, not really wind proof
PostedMarch 13, 2013
This item was not what I expected from LLBean quality. I found the jacket allows wind to seep in and the interior not at all cozy and warm. The jacket is stiff and kind of crackles with movement. There is no draw string for the hood so it is useless in the wind. I wanted a good mid season jacket that could handle spring wind and rain. This is not the product for me.

Just what I was looking for!
PostedMarch 13, 2013
This fleece is exactly what I'd been searching for! It seems to be cool and rainy at least 6 months of the year in NYC & I can't wear a winter coat with temps in the 40s/50s so this fleece is perfect.
I read a lot of reviews and was worried about zippers, pockets, sizing, warmth, etc. If the price on the Bright Pink wasn't great, I wouldn't have even tried it but I'm so glad I did!
I am 5' 6" and 125, a bit busty with small hips and thin arms. I bought the MED first because of the reviews and I could have worn it 8 months pregnant! I liked the arm/back length and the size of the hood but decided it was too poofy in the middle. So I tried the Small which fits much better overall. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Fleece Soft Shell
PostedMarch 11, 2013
.
Think of this as a low profile fleece soft shell. It is comfortable, cut well, especially for style and I love the longer length, it covers my bum and is uniform length around. This jacket is cut much closer/fitted and smaller than the Super 200 Cresta Fleece jacket/vest, the Thinsulate Fitness Vest, and Bean's Fleece Big Shirt, I would say by a size, fits like a small, when it is a medium. I am 5'2", 140#, 36D chest. I usually like a bit more room in my outwear for layering, but alone or with a thin underlayer this jacket fits very nicely. Like other LLBean products, the quality and construction is excellent, with flat seams, zipper wind flap, chin protector, zippered outer pockets, deep & wider drop inner pockets (love the size, even better if zippered) and perfectly sized elastic wrists. The hood is great, well shaped, not too heavy or thick, and fits just right ,not too loose, not too tight, and does not blow off when the jacket is fully zipped. The color contrast, inside to outside, is really lovely and adds style to the jacket. The zippered pockets are white mesh and when unzipped are noticeable and a slightly strange contrast, but okay. The cut and material is flattering and nice but not as great for ease of movement and comfort, still good but not as good as the above mentioned. Overall a nice jacket.

definitely windproof and water resistant
PostedMarch 8, 2013
Performed well in the Himalayas in February! Thin enough to layer under heavy protection when conditions are extreme. Truly windproof and quite water resistant. A little stiffer and noisier than regular fleece, but the windproof factor makes the compromise worthwhile.
Washes well. Hips a little snug for a pear-shape figure.
