The jacket is quite warm and smooth to the touch, does not feel like it will pill or attract lint, and the zippers feel sturdy. The outside zipper pockets and inside pockets are a nice touch. My main complaint is about sizing. I am 5'7, weigh 116 lbs and by modern women's clothing standards I always wear an XS or size 2. The XS on LL Bean is supposed to be a 4. The jacket sleeves are about two inches too short for my taste (very annoying), the shoulders/armpits feel tight, and it falls just slightly too short before my hip. And all of this from only wearing it over a light t-shirt; putting a sweater underneath is out of the question. I highly recommend that any woman taller than 5'6 do not buy this jacket, and all women should order a size up. I for one will be buying from the men's section from now on. LL Bean must start offering more items for tall/lanky women.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I really like this jacket, I ordered a large and I'm 5'3", usually wear a size 10 pant. I could have ordered a medium, but I am one that likes no binding what so ever. If I want to wear a heavier long sleeve shirt underneath I can. There is lot's of room. I feel it blocks the wind perfectly. Some ladies would not like the loose fit I chose. So order the medium, but for me the brown is so cuddly, and easy to wear. I thought this fleece sort of thin when I got it, but it's fine and not bulky. And I appreciate the hood which is much needed in Seattle, easy up and easy down when running from the car to the store and the rain just won't quit.
I'll be returning this jacket. I don't like the way it's fitted and the sleeves are too long. I don't like the stiff fabric. I like a looser more, traditional fit. Will try a size up or different style.
This jacket is well-made and has good features like interior pockets, exterior zip pockets, and a nicely fitted hood. I ordered this jacket in both a M and L because I wasn't sure of the fit. The M fit well but the sleeves were too short. The L was too big and the sleeves were barely long enough - I ended sending both back. If you have long arms this jacket probably won't work for you.
