ProsDurable, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, warm with layers
I ordered this in the lilac/purple color, which was, in my opinion, too dark. I also ordered it with a hood. The hood was very large, and I did not think it was worth the additional $10. when a warm hat would be less of a hassle to wear! Therefore I returned it for the Wind Challenger fleece without a hood, in red. The red is pretty bright but better than than the purple shade I think. This is, I believe, the warmest of the LLB fleeces. It has a layer of warm material in between two layers of fleece, seems very well made, and has cuffs of the thin elastic type. I'd recommend this one or the hoodless Wind Challenger highly for keeping warm in cool/cold weather.
I received the Wind Challenger jacket for Christmas in a size M but had to return for a L. Still the arms were too short and my wrists were exposed. Should be fine on a less lanky person (I have pretty long arms!). Felt soft and comfy otherwise.

I was looking for something to take to Scotland this summer, needed to be waterproof with a hood because I get ear aches real easy with any wind and dry fast so it can be put into my backpack. Might be a little warmer than I would like, will see on this trip. Reviews talked about short sleeves, I find them to be perfect, I'm glad I orderd my reg. size. I have already found that it is very waterproof, love the way hood fits my head and does not come off with the wind, its like a custom fit.

I have had this jacket for 5 years and absolutely love it! It is amazing how warm, yet light weight it is. I live in the windy state of Wyoming and the wind challenger truly stops the wind in its tracks. I definitely recommend this jacket for any environment. Thanks LLBean for a great product.
