This jacket is overall quite good but the jacket does run a size too small. I normally wear an XL to be able to layer underneath and found that this jacket in XL was skin tight. I exchanged for the 1X and it fits great (and is similar in size to other jackets I have that are XL). I'm glad to have a windblocker fleece that has a hood (a rare find); the hood fits well and is comfortable. The jacket performs well and I can wear just a t-shirt underneath for temps in the mid-to-upper 40s. The other reviews were right about the shorter sleeves, but for me that was perfect because I find sleeves on most coats and jackets to be too long. By sizing up you also avoid the issues mentioned by others with tightness in the upper arms and shoulders. I'm not giving 5 stars because it is a tad tight at the throat to zip the jacket all the way up when the hood is down -- not a big deal really but something to note. Overall, a terrific jacket.

I read the previous reviews and ordered up a size. I am a size 10-12 and usually wear LL Bean medium, but purchased this jacket in a size L and am very glad I did. I fits very nicely - I can also layer under with no difficulty. This jacket is very wind proof and sheds the rain nicely. ...the hood is a great bonus for the west coast. I have the black coffee and have now ordered the collegiate blue. Definitely recommend this jacket.

i received a fleece wind challenger hooded jacket for a gift several years ago. It is great in three seasons. I wear it in the stormiest, coldest, and windiest weather. I use it for my dog walking coat. This jacket is so great I ordered another wind challenger jacket. I wear it nearly everyday. It is very nice and a beautiful blue color. The new jacket doesn't have as many pockets as the older one. I miss the two upper inside zippered pockets. The jacket washes wonderfully.
