Wind Challenger Fleece, Hooded Jacket

ProsDurable, Comfortable
Love this jacket...warm even in mid Chicago winter and keeps out wind. Hood is large enough to keep you dry. I have 5 of these in different colors and my husband has 2!!

not what I'd hoped for

ProsDurable
This is an attractive looking jacket and the hood is great. I'm afraid I have to agree, however, with the others who found it deficient. The bust is cut small (I'm 5 ft 9, 145 lbs, 36C). and even with only a light layer underneath I felt squished in what is my usual L size for jackets. The sleeves are a decent length when arms are resting at the sides but need to be longer for reliable outerwear coverage when reaching. When the hood is up and the zipper zipped up, there is uncomfortable pressure against my throat. And it has very little insulating value. I was looking for a windproof fleece; this jacket is really a soft shell with a fuzzy surface (which gathers lint with a vengeance).
I wouldn't trust it to keep me warm outdoors unless I knew I'd be extremely active the whole time; it would be good, for instance, after working up heat cross country skiing, but would not be warm enough even then if one stopped for any length of time.
I returned it and have decided to try a size up with an awareness of its limitations to see if I feel it might be useful under times of changing seasons or during the summer or spring. It felt perilously un-snug to me in temps of about 40 with a breeze.

I would absolutely love this jacket if would fit over my ...umm.. tummy. Warm. lightweight, the purple color is not too purple, but when I zip it up it is just too tight around the hips. I have other fleece jackets from years ago that do not have this drawback. What happened? Every woman of a ...certain age... that I know has a bit of a pear shape, for want of another term. This jacket may not be for them.......
Too bad.

This jacket was just not what I expected, ran small and was hard to put on over other top. I liked the color, but it just wasn't very comfortable. I didn't mind the fabric, which other reviewers had mentioned. I always put comfort first. Was sorry that I had to send it back.
