ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, worn everyday
I know everyone is into style and I am to a certain extent. However, I have been shopping at LLBean online for years which is hard to do. You have to use the size chart provided. I went to a local store and had to purchase a mans fleece jacket to fit me and then took it back because I wasn't happy with it. I found this one online and when it came I have been in love with it. It fits perfectly! I can wear it alone or under a coat and the hood is an added plus. It is soft enough and just stiff enough to hold its shape and I guarantee it will outlast any product out there. Every item I have ever purchased from LLBean, I still have. I am so happy I found this jacket. I also have a coat of theirs and their full length rain coat that I swear by. I have had that rain coat for almost ten years and it looks brand new. All I need now are some rain boots to go with it! If you aren't happy, call in and they will help you with the dimensions you seek.
I love my jacket. I love the navy color, the lightweight fleece, and the warmth!! I ordered a misses XL based on the size chart and it is perfect. I plan to run it it every morning and wear it throughout the day as I run errands, etc. I highly recommend this jacket. I know mine will get daily use this winter and upcoming spring.
I actually returned the jacket a few days ago for two reasons: I had ordered too large a size and I wasn't impressed by the style. The jacket looked shapeless on me, and I do not believe it was just due to being too large. The jacket needs shaping; however, I would recommend it to someone who was looking for warmth and for whom style wasn't a major issue. Still on the lookout for warmth and style in a waterproof jacket.
I just got this jacket, and I'm very impressed by how warm it is. I wore it out of the store and didn't even realize I was driving without the heat on till I was almost home (it's a 30-minute drive). It's a really great alternative to soft shells, which never fit me right and always remind me of those rubber sauna suits from the 1970s. It is also very reasonably priced in comparison to similar jackets. However, there are a few things I would change:
1) The pockets are made of mesh, without any kind of backing material on the inside of the jacket. If you like to keep your hands in your pockets, be prepared to feel every breeze that comes your way.
2) The fit could use some fine-tuning. I'm bottom-heavy, and the local chain sports bar won't be asking me to waitress anytime soon; most performance jackets reflect this and are tight around my waist and looser around my chest and arms. This jacket is the opposite. I bought my usual size, but tried the next size up just in case it was a matter of the sizes running small. That jacket was more comfortable around my arms, but too baggy everywhere else.
3) I think there should be more length options for this jacket. I'm 5'1", and the arm and torso length are just right for me, which means it might run short on anyone who is taller or longer-waisted than me (i.e., almost everyone).
4) The top of the collar has a somewhat awkward height, and that is made worse by the zipper cover, which makes it uncomfortable to zip up all the way. Not a big deal for me, as I usually leave my collars open a little bit, but I could see it being an issue in super-cold weather or when wearing a scarf.
