I bought this jacket because I wanted a decent hood that would stay up. The hood on the jacket is well made. I had to return this size medium jacket because it was a bit too short in the sleeves and a little too snug in the shoulder area. I am 5'4" and 134lbs so the jacket really should have fit me, but it didn't. Also the color red is too sharp. I wished the inside mountain red was the outside color. and one more thing, the mesh pocket lining should be black or grey or anything but WHITE cause if your pocket is unzipped then you see the white interior. For as much as this jacket costs, I expect it to be exactly what I want. Also the material is not soft. It is stretchy like they say, but not real comfortable. I have a LLBean 200 gram pullover fleece in mountain red and I LOVE that one. The material is SOFT and the size medium fits nicely. SO I guess I thought this mountain fleece would be more like that one only a hooded zip up but it is not near as nice.

I love walking on the cold windy beaches in the Pacific Northwest. This lightweight jacket keeps the cold wind out and the warmth in. When it rains unexpectedly, it sheds the water. I was caught out in the rain for an hour and my clothes were dry when i finally got inside. I got my Mom one too and she loves hers. The fit is true to size. I just wish they had a more neutral palette of colors. Taupe? Khaki green? I would wear it for birding if the colors were more neutral.
Nice and warm and not bulky. Wanted this jacket to go horse back riding in and it works great. Definitely blocks all wind. Other reviewers said the jacket runs small and I agree. I usually wear a Large and I ordered an Extra Large and it fits just right.
I wanted a jacket that would be comfortable during activity on chilly, windy, wet fall days in Ohio. I thought the fleece would be softer and warmer then it was. It was stiff and plastic like. Also, too short in the sleeves. Just not for me, I'll keep looking.
