Ordered and worn this jacket for two years in windy Flagstaff. Excellent wind blocking, truly only water resistant, needs lined easy on/off sleeves, needs two way heavier duty zipper
Great fitting jacket that was even tested today shoveling snow. I stayed warm without getting overheated. I find that it is also a great jacket for in and out of the car doing errands. The hood allows me to leave the umbrella at home which is always a good thing. The extra fabric that is by the zipper ensures that no wind will get through. My other fleece jacket (not bought from LL Bean) lets the wind through but not this one. The high quality of the finishing of the jacket is also apparent with seams being very neat and no loose threads. I have bought top brand jackets only to find that the zipper gets stuck in the fabric very easy so I am very happy to report the zipper on this jacket is trouble free. I think I will be sticking to LL Bean jackets from now on.
After much contemplation about which jacket to buy to replace a VERY old LLBean fleece jacket (no longer in stock) that I wore daily on my morning walk, I went with this jacket. I love the weight of it, and its flexibility. If the temperature is 50 degrees, it's the perfect jacket. If the temperature is 30 and breezy, it's the perfect coat. Whatever the conditions, it's just right. The size is good (but order up if in doubt), the sleeve length is long enough to cover my hands if needed (but the elastic keeps them from falling down, otherwise) and the hood is an added bonus for sudden showers. The mesh pockets do let air in as others have mentioned. I'll also comment that in trying to decide, I called customer service and was pleasantly surprised by the willingingness of Jen to go the extra mile to help me decide which coat would best fit my needs. She even did some research after our call and called me back to tell me what she found. Thanks LLBean for your continued good quality and excellent service!
