Just got this jacket a few days ago, and it is a favorite already! My husband got one for Christmas, and I liked the idea of the hood. I got this jacket in pink without the hood when they first came out a few years ago. This one is similar, but I have to agree with many other customers that it does run a bit small. My original jacket is a medium. After reading other reviews, I ordered both a Medium & a Large, and I am keeping the Large. (Thanks, LLB for your superb return policy!) It is much more comfortable, the sleeves are longer, and it is closer in size to my old medium jacket. (I am an average size 10) I love the coffee color! As far as the fleece goes, it is extremely warm, and blocks the wind very well. Some customers have mentioned that it is not the "soft" fleece they were expecting. This is not a plush fleece, it is a bit stiffer due to the barrier layer. But, I can't say enough good things about its warmth and light weight. If I could add a wish, it would be to have fleece pockets instead of mesh, to keep my hands as warm as the rest of me is!... Next I'll be buying one for our off-to-college son!
I ordered the Cobalt Sea/Cool Blue version of this jacket, and found it to be a disappointing sky or powder blue - not the vibrant cobalt or turquise blue it appears on the website. I'm returning it. The jacket itself is very nice, however.
The windblock layer makes all the difference in warmth and comfort, but doesn't seem to add any bulk at all. The jacket really is lightweight but warm, and the hood is functional, not just decorative. Overall, a fantastic jacket!
