I am in Florida during the winter when it can get into the 30's and 40's at times and am in North Carolina in late spring into fall. This is a perfect jacket -though it is thin it is very warm, and fairly windproof, just as advertised. I have the hooded version, which has come in handy to keep my head warm.
I haven't found out how it performs if it rains, but I found the catalog description of the jackets features very accurate so far.
I really like the wind-proof feature and the hood. It is especially nice for dashing in and out of the car and the hood stays up. I do wish it were easier to put on and take off! The fabric inside the sleeves sticks to any sort of sweater and makes this a struggle. Should I make sleeve liners for a jacket that otherwise I love? This is not because it is too small because I could really use a shorter sleeve and otherwise the fit is fine. It is just the fact that the fabric doesn't allow other sleeves to slide easily
This is a great fleece because it isn't bulky and is very packable. I've worn it in cold & windy weather with a base layer and it was great. I bought a medium to wear with something under it. I usually wear a small in ll bean items. The fit is fine.
Nice fleece jacket, keeps out wind as advertised, but size is not very accurate. I bought large and sleeve lengths are fine, but jacket is tight. Color black/sable is actually brown; so I was somewhat disappointed. Lilac was sold out.
