This fleece jacket is better than I expected. The material feels soft and yet strong. It is well sewn, and the cut is flattering. I found the length just right. I have wide shoulders, and sometimes have trouble with fit, but this fit just fine. My jacket arrived at the same time as our cold rainy season and so got a good test right away. It repels moisture well and is very cozy to wear on the windy, rainy fall days we get out here on the BC coast. Oh yes, and I love the "Black Coffee" colour, which was more accurate in the paper catalogue then on the website.
Was looking for a grab and go for walking and errands to replace my 20 year old fleece. Liked the hood and wind protection. I'm usually a med but got a large to layer over bulky sweater and the size & sleeves were fine. Sent it back because the fabric attracted so much lint just laying on a cotton blanket on the bed. Perhaps the smooth texture is the cause but this I won't deal with. If you don't care about lint then this would be a good jacket. Would prefer non-ski slope colors - greys, rose, etc. - and especially a real inside pocket not just the lining of the outside ones.
I was surprised to read the other reviews as I love this jacket. I did call to confirm that I should probably get a large in order to layer under. I am a medium for the most part. My puzzlement is that the other reviews talked about the sleeves being too short. I find they are plenty long (perfect), but maybe because I purchased a large.
I like the jacket more than I thought I would. When I ordered it I thought that it would be all soft and cushy and it is soft just not that cozy kind I kept it anyway and have been wearing it a lot. It is getting cold here and I don't want to start burning the fuel so I have been wearing it all around the house, wearing it right now, just hopped in the car in my pajamas and this jacket to run out and pick my kid up from a football game. This is not my serious winter activity jacket but it looks to be a good one for all kinds of situations. It just seems to be growing on me the more I wear it ..... . and again the sleeve are fine for the short arms that came with my short body 5'4"
