ProsDurable, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, great fit
A terrific lightweight weight jacket that is both excellent rain protection at its best and comfortable wind breaker. Very comfortable with sweater on cooler days. The small was perfect fit for me.
The finest jacket shell and protection I have ever experienced. Bought a size larger to accomodate a variety of layering options. Appreciate the reinforced shoulders and elbows and zippered vents to assure proper ventilation and aeration when needed.
The jacket is durable and impervious to severe weather conditions. You will not ever be cold when wearing this coat. In fact, you will sweat in large quantities. Each time that I wear this coat with the fleece, I have to change my shirt. Why LLBean gives this coat a 50-0 degrees comfort zone is beyond me. I think that one could never feel the winter chill when wearing this coat. But alas, the sweat factor is cumbersome.
My only other criticism is that it is too short. If you wear the drawstring cinch during the rain, the jacket repels the water directly onto your thighs. What would fix that is a longer length and remove the drawstring cinch or make it waist high only. I am actually thinking of returning it.
I like everything about this jacket except the zipper. It's lightweight, yet feels and looks solidly made. The zipper unfortunately looks like somebody stuck it on like a cheapo afterthought. I hope I'm wrong and this jacket lasts for years. (like my other llBean jacket that I've worn the heck out of for over 15 years) Given the wear and tear my other jacket had to put up with, I have my doubts. For the money, couldn't you guys have insisted on a better zipper?
