It bothers me when people leave poor reviews on such amazing products.
I've owned this jacket for over a year and spend a considerable amount of time on trails and outdoors. This jacket has kept me dry and blocks the wind great!
The water tight ykk zippers are always awesome! I've never had any trouble with the ykk zippers period let alone the water tight.
The sleeves are made as a technical design with the jacket. They made them so you can do things with your hands without the sleeves getting in the way.
Remember this is a technical shell, not a typical jacket. Its made to keep you dry, warm (providing that you use layers when needed), and the ability to let you breath.
Great design L.L. Bean. The only thing I would add is maybe some extra pockets (water tight) near the chest and arms.
This is a well built and comfortable rain jacket that when worn over the polartec fleece is not only weather and rain proof, but warm. I've used it in the rainy Pacific northwest for everything from walking the dog to snowshoeing in the Cascades. All the zippers work well, and there are convienent internal storage pockets.
cost when compared to other companies for a gore-tex proshell is tremendously less. Runs a little bigger than expected, but not as if i was drowning in it. Easy to use toggles, good pocket placement. Small downside, is zipping up pit zips. May be a little awkward to do while zipping. Extremely water resilient, tradeoff is a little overheating, just a little.
LL Bean does not carry what I like in a womans 2X. Decided to try this jacket in mens size. Except for the sleeves are a tad too long, this coat fits me perfectly. Purchased in Aug. so haven't had an occasion to wear it yet, but football season is around the corner.
