I've bought a number of these shirts. Recently, one of them tore along the top right side of the back--the seam simply came unstitched. No matter--that particular shirt was probably over a year old. Several weeks later, though, another shirt (same type and size of shirt; wrinkle-resistant, pinpoint Oxford, French blue) tore in the exact same spot. This shirt was essentially new--I had purchased it fairly recently. Since I don't have a protuberance in that spot on my back, I'm force to conclude that this is a workmanship issue. So, when I buy my next pinpoint Oxford, I'll be purchasing it from that company with the misplaced apostrophe in its name.
I love this shirt! Great looking right out of the bag, looks good right out of the washer and even looks good right out of the suitcase.The wrinkle resistance is wonderful. I pack these for a trip and as soon as I can, I hang them on hangers and they are great to go in no time. I wash them in cold water, delicate cycle and hang them to dry , and it is if someone irons them while they dry. The cotton is substantial and the lines are crisp. The best part is the fit. I have a 15.5" neck and a 36" sleeve, and LLBean has figured out that size is for a slender body. Good job all around.
While overall I am a very satisfied Bean customer, this shirt is of shockingly poor quality, Unlike the TA 209411 shirts, which are well-made (please make that exact shirt in more colors), the collars on these shirts wear out so quickly. Based on other reviews, I am not alone in experiencing the rapid disintegration of these shirts.
