When I first purchased one of these shirts I loved it. Good feel, light weight and comfortable, but it hasn't worn well. It's maybe six months old and holes are appearing around the cuffs and the cuffs are fraying. It is in with a regular rotation with shirts from other retailers, but it is the only one showing wear. It's not a case of too much wear, it's a case of not well made. It just doesn't last!
The fabric of the Wrinkle Resistant Pinpoint Oxford Shirt Solid is too thin. Not at all what I expect in a pinpoint shirt.
Unfortunately I will not return it because I have removed the tags and packing material, ironed out the creases from shipping, and hung it in my closet. It is a hassle to pack and ship it back.
So I will keep it, probably donate it, and never again by a dress shirt from LLBean.
I am torn over a shirt that looks great for the first 8 months then starts to unravel and wear at the collar and sleeves. I love the shirt but it wears too fast. I have other LLBean shirts that show less wear after 5 years. For a plus $50 shirt it is not worth replacing in less than a year. What happened to the quality???
I have bought 6 or 8 of these over the past 4 years or so. They are incredible. Wrinkle free as advertised. Perfect for everyday wear right out of the dryer. Use an iron only if you are forced to wear a blazer and tie. They are extremely durable. No sign of wear.
